What we collect
- Audience measurement: we use Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd / Google LLC) to count visits and understand which pages are useful. It sets cookies and collects data such as pages viewed, approximate location, device and browser type.
- Advertising: the site may display ads through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies to show ads and measure their performance, including personalised ads where you have consented. You can manage ad personalisation at adssettings.google.com.
- Comments: if you leave a comment, we store the name, email address, website and text you submit, plus your IP address and browser user agent to help detect spam. Your email address is never published.
- Server logs: our host (o2switch, France) keeps standard technical logs (IP address, date, requested page) for security and maintenance.
Why we use it (legal bases)
- Analytics and advertising cookies: your consent, where required by law.
- Comments and spam protection: our legitimate interest in running a discussion space.
- Server logs: our legitimate interest in keeping the site secure.
Affiliate links
When you click an affiliate link (for example to Ledger), the merchant may set its own cookies to attribute the sale. Their privacy policy then applies.
How long we keep it
- Google Analytics data: 14 months.
- Comments: as long as the comment is published.
- Server logs: according to our host’s standard retention.
Transfers
Google may process data outside the European Economic Area, including in the United States, under the safeguards it provides (EU–US Data Privacy Framework and standard contractual clauses).
